Collector notes
The Banner Mauser is a commercial Oberndorf product, identified by the Mauser banner trademark on the receiver. It is not a military K98k even when the calibre is 7.92×57. Furniture, finish, and markings follow commercial practice. Collectors should keep Banner rifles in a separate series from issue K98k rifles. Mixing them in a ‘K98k’ listing confuses both provenance and value. Original commercial blue and an unsanded stock are the usual points of condition.
